And she is finally complete! :)
Let me present you the White Tender Demon - the doll with the whole costume, shoes and wig is around 53 cm tall. She is wearing natural silk dress hand made by me from finest crepe and antique laces. Her dress is pure softness and lightness - so pleasant to touch.

Short update on the progress of the White Demon
I am finally done with the wig and slippers.
It took me a bit longer than expected, but I am happy with the result, which is most important of all. :)
The wig is made from natural mohair and decorated with glass beads and hand made silk flowers (those took some time! ). It was the first removable wig I have made, so I had to figure out how to make it not just good looking, but also easy to put on, and most important - firmly sitting on the head, which was quite a challenge, as it is pretty heavy. But at the end I can assure that it is really made well - it sits nicely and doesn't fall off even if the doll bents dawn.
The slippers was another story - the bottom part is made from a jewelry wire which is twisted in such complicated way, that I would never ever be able to repeat the design. How ever they are symmetrical, as they should be. The top part is made from flax fabrics, which I have chosen after trying out several different materials.
I am still working on her dress and a special stand, which should complete the whole picture. :)
you can find some more pictures of her on my Flickr

The White tender Demon
Some of you may remember my drawing of a demon girl from some time ago.
Today I want to show you how the doll is coming out.
The sculpting took me a while, but now I am absolutely happy with the result. I have painted her and sealed her, and now she is going to be assembled with metal springs and dressed up in a luxurious hand made costume.
Yay - my fingers are itching to finish her - she seems to be a cute little creature and will become a wonderful companion. :)

Drawing a little
I have got some ideas, which may not turn into dolls but still can make a beautiful interior decoration as drawings. Right now I am laying them dawn on sheets of paper so they can live their life and seek for new home.

Spring
I have been working on this doll since the end of February when it was dark and cold and I was dreaming of spring to come. What can be more beautiful than the world waking up suddenly everything is so full of life, blossoms and bird songs.
I am still making a costume for my spring and will also add some little birdies on the branches of the trees which are already blooming with hundreds of natural silck blossoms hand made by me. :)

Spring has come
Hello to all my dear friends who are following this blog and to those who have just stumbled upon it for the first time.
It’s been a while since my last post, and you most probably were guessing that I am intensely working on something new.
Yes you are absolutely right. Few new projects are speeding up and do not let me rest.
I have finished a new ribbon jointed doll, which you can see on my ETSY already.
I am also working on a White Tender Demon which is turning out into a complicated OOAK BJD.
The spring has finally come, and I feel myself full of energy and inspiration.

The little Mermaid
Do you know the story of little mermaid? Not the sweet pop version told by Disney, but the true story about her deep love and broken heart.
I will tell it in few words:
“Once Upon a time in a deep blue sea in a wonderful crystal palace lived a little mermaid. She was beautiful beyond the words and also she was a very gifted singer. Her voice was charming and unique, no one could sing as her.
On her 15th birthday little mermaid was aloud to swim to the surface of the sea and to see the land.
She swam up, and saw a ship in the storm. The ship was broken and then she saw a prince fighting for his life with waves. Prince was about to drawn, when she rushed to help him and saved his life.
And of course – she felt in love from the first site. She brought the prince to the shore where he was found by some girl.
Little mermaid was happy for him and also very sad because she couldn’t see him anymore. She missed him so much, that she went to a witch and asked her to change her fish tail to human legs.
The witch gave her a magic potion, but not for free. She took the most precious thing the mermaid had – her beautiful voice, and – as that would not be enough – the little mermaid had to suffer enormous pain with each step she makes.
The little mermaid took a potion, got legs, met price, he liked her and was spending a lot of time with her, but - as she was mute – he was not taking her seriously. So she was following him everywhere and entertaining him with her dances even when she had to suffer pain because of that.
But the worst of the worst was that she was cursed to turn into sea foam if her prince will marry another woman.
What happened next?... The prince was invited to a neighborhood kingdom and met there a girl who has found him on the shore. No matter that he went there together with little mermaid, as soon as he saw the other – he has decided to marry her. The poor little mermaid had her heart broken, and turned into sea foam.
The moral of the story is: you should never ever sacrifice your essence for any prince or princess, because you will become a pitiful suffering creature not even able to speak for yourself and the object of your dreams will not appreciate your sacrifice at all and most probably will even marry someone else.

Steampunk it is
I have just discovered steampunk, and I must admit I love it. Gloria is my first steampunk style doll, but I am thinking on making more of them. I just love the idea of connecting Victorian style clothing, steam machines and human figure into one art piece.
p.s. I have posted some tips for those of you who are starting working with air dry clays. Be sure to check my Trutorial Page

New year, new ideas, new projects! :)
I am starting the blogging of this year with wonderful news:
This is official!
We are making her! We – is me and Lidia from bjdtales.
Yayx! – I am so exited! I can’t wait to see how this will come out!
I was admiring Lidia’s dolls since I saw them for the first time. The tiny beautiful creatures are absolutely fantastic and unique. And of course I was always curious how they would look like dressed up in fancy costumes which I like so much…
So when Lidia wrote me to tell how she likes costuming of my dolls – that was the moment we realized we just must make it!
We have been thinking a lot on a character, and here is what we came out with.

While Lidia is working on a porcelain doll, I am sketching and planning the details of costume.
This girl has a dramatic and sad story behind her, and we will tell it to you a bit later - so stay with us to know more ;)
